SUMMER READING FRIDAY 4 DECEMBER TO FRIDAY 22 JANUARY Summer Reading is a reading program for children under 12, which aims to engage children in reading activities during the Summer school holidays. To get your child involved in Summer Reading, pick up a Guide to Summer Reading at your local library so they can start collecting stamps. Children receive a stamp for: • each book they read by themselves or with the help of an adult, and • each Summer Reading activity they attend at any Council library. Library staff will stamp your child's Guide when they visit the library for an event or return a book they have read. There is a limit of five stamps per child per week. Every child who collects 10 stamps and completes the information in their Guide receives a reward. And they don't have to stop when you have collected 10 stamps -- just ask at the library for another Guide and they can carry on! (Sorry, but they will only get one prize.) * An asterisk indicates bookings are essential.
