Booking essential. 5 COOKS + BOOKS: QUEENSLAND’S CULINARY HISTORY Cooks + Books reveals the stories behind significant Queensland cookbooks held by the State Library of Queensland. This presentation shows that in addition to instructing on the preparation of food, these cookbooks promote products, raise funds for particular causes, advocate better nutrition, and extend our cultural horizons. Presented by Susan Addison and Dr Judith McKay, co-authors of A Good Plain Cook: An Edible History of Queensland, this thought provoking talk encourages you to read between the lines of each and every recipe, revealing insights into everyday life and explaining how our food tastes have broadened during the past 150 years.
