Cultural Connections "Coolamon: carrying the culture" - Monday 21 April to Sunday 25 May. Come along and share with Brisbane's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a month of displays, performances, authors' talks, lectures and workshops profiling their culture and traditions. Celebration Day - Sunday 11 May, Reddacliff Place. Enjoy talented Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers presenting their traditional and contemporary culture through music and dance. Interactive and practical DJ demonstration and workshop. *Ghostboy Poetry Workshop - Thursday 10 and 11 April 1 Oam-12 noon, tiered theatrette. Ghostboy's "Page to Stage" performance poetry workshops will help young budding performance poets to hit the slam stage armed with freshly sharpened words. The workshop will cover topics such as writing and editing poetry for the stage; understanding and engaging a live audience, developing performance technique and understanding poetry slam. Activities include dynamic group writing and performance exercises using a live microphone. DIY Film Festival: Film screenings - Thursday 10 April and Friday 11 April 12 noon-2pm and 4-6pm in the Theatrette. Young Brisbane film-makers will take to the silver screen as they present their experience of Brisbane and discuss the future of filmmaking in the 21st century.
