Coffee33 *Coffee 33 author talk - Sunday 1 June 11 am Literature Lounge. Late last year a delightful book called Coffee 33 was produced by Robert Chapman and Ross Allen. The book contains photographs and information about 33 of Brisbane's coffee shops together with a small poem about each location. It is a charming and very professional work. Robert and Ross will host this author talk. Events Coolamon: Carrying the Culture - a program of free events and activities focusing on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of Brisbane - Monday 21 April to Sunday 25 May. Visit Brisbane Square Library during April and May to participate in this celebration. Members of Brisbane's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities have made Brisbane Square Library a keeping place for traditional and contemporary art and a meeting place to share stories, idea and performances. Acoustics on Sundays Performances - 25 May 12noon-2.15pm Level One, Sound and Vision Lounge. The music keeps coming! Some of Brisbane's finest singer songwriters will be performing in the library on the last Sunday of each month. This month, don't miss the original sounds of Asa Broomhall, What Black Cat, Adam James and Getano Bann. *Acoustics on Sundays music Workshop - 25 May 10am-12noon Community meeting room. Jim Chapman and Adam Connelly form What Black Cat, and they will be discussing principles for successful song writing and playing and discuss your piece if you wish. This workshop is for beginners and experienced writers and players alike. *Thinkers' corner - Philosophy on Sundays - 4 and 18 May 11 am-12.30pm. Level One (meeting room 1.10). A series of lessons on the nature of existence. The Thinkers' Corner philosophy course is conducted fortnightly over four meetings, and explores the nature of our beliefs: who, what, how and why we are. Presented by Michael Woodrow.
